Each page is a simulacrum of a make-believe website that is the internet component of a make-believe reality TV program called the American White House. The program showcases user-presented designs for the White House and provides a forum for viewers to cast their votes for favored designs.

THE AMERICAN WHITE HOUSE
The American White House takes the renovation of the White House into the extreme by thrusting it into the public realm and empowering the American voters with the right to choose. The American White House project supposes that every individual has the right to contribute their voice to decide the outcome of our national symbol, the White House. And because in today’s world there is no more democratic a stage than that of a reality TV program and its internet component, the American White House program provides the ultimate showcase for redesigning the White House. As a “reality” experience, the American White House transforms the design process into a venue which allows its viewers to actively select the outcomes through a free and fair, wide-scale election.
The question of who should shape our future may be approached through this uber-democractic exploration, as the reality TV show format of the American White House will allow everyone complete and unfettered access, free of politics and legal standing. But it is entirely possible that the public’s free admittance into this normally closed process may prove to be chaotic and unsound. We may find that having too many voices may not lead us to a better
